Villia has a Bachelor of Social Work degree from James Cook University and a Diploma of Community Services – Case Management.
Villia is an enthusiastic social worker with over 12 years of experience working in the community sector. This includes experience in housing and homelessness, severe and complex mental health, primary health, youth mental health, and disability. She is passionate about supporting vulnerable people and families as well as driving targeted projects to improve the sector.
Through her many years of working in community settings Villia has developed a breadth of knowledge and skills in assessment, crisis intervention, case management, psychosocial support, counselling and coaching, project management and working effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team. She works from a strengths-based approach and believes all people have the right to be treated with dignity and respect.
Villia has a special interest in health, wellness and trauma-informed practice. She has completed her 200 hr Yoga Alliance Certification and will be undertaking further training in trauma sensitive yoga practice in 2023. Making yoga and wellbeing accessible to people of all walks of life and all abilities is her passion.
