Social Worker . Case Manager . Support Coordinator
Rebecca has a Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in Psychology and Criminology and a Master of Social Work, graduating from QUT in 2013.
She has worked as a Social Worker in a variety of different areas including hospital, community mental health, homelessness, community rehabilitation and aged care. Her hospital experience includes working in multiple areas such as emergency, intensive care, rehabilitation, general medicine, surgical and acute stroke.
Through her many years of working in acute and inpatient settings she has developed a breadth of knowledge and skills in assessment, crisis intervention, complex discharge planning, psychosocial support, grief and loss, adjustment counselling and working effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Looking to diversify and expand her knowledge and skills, Rebecca moved to the disability sector in 2021.
Rebecca has a special interest in trauma-informed practice and completed her Level 1 and 2 Certification in EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) in 2020. EFT is a mindfulness-based stress-reduction technique that is becoming increasingly recognized as effective in reducing stress, anxiety, chronic pain, and effects of trauma by down-regulating the body’s nervous system and emotional centre of the brain.
