Renee brings over 15 years of experience in the health and disability sector across Australia and the UK. She graduated with a Bachelor of Social Work degree from the University of Queensland in 2000. She has held clinical and leadership roles across acute hospital settings, rehabilitation, intermediate care, and community services. Her experience spans rapid assessment and crisis intervention through to case management of individuals requiring support because of complex psychosocial issues and acquired disability or brain injury, neurological conditions, and chronic health conditions. She understands the impact of disability on the individual as it relates to their life stage, having worked with a people across different age groups. She has worked with people who have, for example, acquired disability including spinal injuries, stroke, hypoxic brain injury, accident related brain injuries (e.g. MVA); people with MS, Parkinson’s Disease, MND, Huntington’s Disease; people who are heart and lung transplant recipients; people experiencing age related disability.

Her practice framework embraces a person centred approach, ensuring that the client voice is the one guiding and leading their goals and plans as far as they are capable. She draws on systems theory to understand the person in their wider context and to inform her assessment and recommendations. Her assessment is guided by a biopsychosocial approach and her interventions and planning are goal orientated as
determined by the individual’s aspirations, needs and wishes. She is passionate about mobilising the right team and resources to support an individual achieve their desired goals and quality of life, and believe a cohesive team is essential to achieving this.
