Kathy’s style of Support Coordination is client focused and individualised with consideration to rural and regional complexities. Developing innovative goal-oriented treatment plans, building positive working relationships with a focus on increasing wellbeing, independence and sustainability. Kathy likes to meet her participants where they are at and support them in the way that suits them best. Everyone is an individual.
As a qualified social worker, accredited mental health social worker (AMHSW) she also works within the private sector on the Southern Downs; providing service to clients of all ages with presentations of mental health, relationship and psychosocial dysfunction while utilizing a whole of person case management model. Currently Kathy is combines private practice with her roles with Rehability Australia as a Support Coordinator and Counsellor for QFES Vital – Queensland Fire & Emergencies Services and QAS Priority One – Queensland Ambulance Service for the Southern Downs. She has over 30 years of knowledge and skills developed across the mental health, family & disability sectors and is actively involved in community development and client focused community engagement. She is well regarded on the Southern Downs within the medical, welfare and community sectors.
Kathy has her own experience of supporting a family member with disabilities and is committed to supports people living with disabilities, trauma and complex needs to make informed choices and live life to their fullest potential.
